Job summary

Intralox, Baltimore-based division of Laitram, is seeking an Equipment Safety Engineer to oversee safety compliance for modular conveyors and integrated conveyance systems. You will drive design-for-safety practices, lead risk assessments, and partner with engineering, project management, and quality teams globally to ensure robust safety throughout development and deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Safety Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of equipment safety experience in automation or industrial machinery.
• Experience with standalone equipment and integrated system design.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA/ASME and EU Machinery Regulation.
• Ability to conduct ISO 12100 risk assessments.
• Excellent communication and training skills.
• Willing to travel up to 25% (domestic and international).

Responsibilities

• Own safety processes for automated equipment and scaled integration.
• Develop and deliver design safety training for engineering teams.
• Conduct safety risk assessments and validate designs via reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align safety practices.
• Address customer safety inquiries and support regulatory compliance.
