Job summary

IREN seeks a Global Environment Director to lead the evolution of environmental systems, standards, and governance across its multinational operations. The role provides strategic guidance on due diligence, permitting, monitoring, and sustainability programs, ensuring integration throughout the project lifecycle from site selection to execution.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of leadership across jurisdictions, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Sustainability, Natural Resources, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive environmental leadership across multiple countries and regulatory jurisdictions.
• Experience with environmental management systems, governance frameworks, permitting, compliance, and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve the global environmental management framework and governance processes.
• Monitor regulations and integrate changes into company standards.
• Oversee permitting, compliance, monitoring, and environmental risk management.
• Lead environmental programs across waste, water, energy, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with leadership teams to drive ESG initiatives.
