OpenTable is hiring an Engineering Manager to oversee the Serving Platforms team, a globally distributed group of engineers responsible for runtime foundations. You will lead critical platform components such as Kubernetes, service mesh, Vault, and Kafka, combining technical leadership with people management and operational execution.

You will shape quarterly priorities, mentor a 10‑person team, and collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering and partner teams to align with business goals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading infrastructure or SRE teams
• Experience with cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and on‑prem
• Hands-on Linux administration and scripting in Python, Go, or Bash
• Strong communication to align technical and non‑technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Mentor a globally distributed team of engineers and foster ownership
• Shape quarterly priorities and coordinate work across streams
• Represent the Serving Platforms team and drive cross‑functional decisions
• Support evolution of greenfield and legacy platform systems, participate in on‑call rotation
• Navigate ambiguous situations, surface risks early and communicate clear trade‑offs
