Job summary

Greenhouse is seeking an Engineering Manager on our Cloud Platform team to mentor engineers and own AWS cloud foundations and the Kubernetes platform. Reporting to the Director of Platform Engineering, you’ll shape priorities, drive reliability, security, and cost‑effective infrastructure for internal engineers and customers.

You’ll partner with Security and Platform leadership, balance competing needs, manage incidents, and build a healthy, scalable team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a cloud platform or infrastructure-focused organization.
• Proven track record of prioritizing and managing Kubernetes at scale in production.
• Strong AWS experience across compute, networking, IAM/identity, and core services.
• Experience leading engineers with people management or significant tech lead responsibility.
• Infrastructure as code and GitOps practices (Terraform and Helm).
• Clear communication to align technical priorities with department and company objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers; manage performance and create the conditions for them to do their best work.
• Own AWS cloud foundations across compute, networking, identity, and core services; act as technical owner and escalation point.
• Drive cloud cost observability and attribution through tagging, reporting, and accountability practices.
• Recommend and execute AWS cost strategies, including Savings Plans and RI management based on usage forecasts.
• Set and communicate technical priorities balancing reliability, security, cost, and delivery; align with org goals.
• Ensure platform remains scalable, secure, and resilient for internal teams and customers.
• Partner with Security and Platform leadership on standards, roadmaps, incident response, and cross-team priorities.
