Job summary

Lilly is seeking a Director-level Design Lead (DL) to oversee design delivery for capital projects and lead DL teams across nodes, including manufacturing facilities, utilities, and support systems. The role requires coordinating with design partners and internal stakeholders to meet project goals and regulatory standards.

Based at the project site with weekly on-site work, you will drive design quality, schedule, and the development of design requirements while guiding cost-effective solutions

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical) required.
• Minimum of 20 years of manufacturing/engineering experience in pharma/API.
• Willingness to work on-site at project locations weekly.

Responsibilities

• Lead design delivery for capital projects across multiple nodes and manage DL teams.
• Influence engineering design standards, specs, and regulatory guidance.
• Coordinate with A/E firms and internal teams to ensure design quality and schedule.
• Develop design requirements and manage the design verification process.
• Drive value engineering and cost reduction through design improvements.
• Participate in KPI reviews and governance for design activities.
