Job summary

Starkey HearCare, headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, seeks an Employment & Labor Counsel to lead global labor and employment initiatives. You will handle employment litigation, compliance, training, compensation and benefits matters, and support HR leadership while guiding governance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney with a minimum of four (4) years of labor & employment experience.
• Labor and employment counseling experience required.
• Prior law firm experience required; in-house experience is a strong plus.
• Experience with international employee populations is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Counsels on Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, NLRA, OFCCP and other federal laws.
• Advises on compliance-related matters, investigations, audits and training.
• Supports the Human Resources Leadership team.
• Manages and mentors department support staff.
• Counsels on employment and restrictive covenant agreements.
• Assists in severance program management.
• Negotiates and resolves employment-related disputes.
• Manages EEOC charges, labor arbitrations and state charges.
• Develops programs and guidelines aligned with company values and goals.
• Supports complex projects including acquisitions, divestitures and restructurings.
• Develops and delivers engaging employee training on labor & employment topics.
• Maintains strong relationships with business partners and HR professionals.
• Provides advice on compensation plans and benefits, including health and retirement plans.
• Partners with local counsel and global agencies for a shared services model.
