Job summary

Starkey Hearing Technologies in Eden Prairie, MN, seeks an Employment & Labor Counsel to lead global labor and employment initiatives, including litigation, compliance, training and compensation/benefits issues. You will partner with Human Resources and senior leaders to shape governance and ensure a high-performing, compliant workplace.

The role requires four years of labor and employment experience, strong advisory skills, and experience with international populations.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney with 4+ years handling labor & employment issues.
• Experience counseling in both labor and employment matters is required.
• Prior law firm experience required; in-house experience is a strong plus.
• Experience with international employee populations is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Counsels on Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, NLRA, OFCCP and related laws.
• Provides compliance guidance, trainings, and audits.
• Supports HR leadership and global governance initiatives.
• Manages and mentors department staff.
• Counsels on employment agreements and restrictive covenants.
• Assists in managing severance programs.
• Negotiates and resolves employment-related disputes.
• Manages EEOC charges, labor arbitrations and state equivalents.
• Develops policies aligning with company values and objectives.
• Supports complex projects including acquisitions and restructurings.
• Develops and delivers training on labor and compliance topics.
• Maintains relationships with business partners and HR professionals.
• Advises on compensation plans and employee benefits.
