Job summary

Aura is seeking a collaborative Employment & Corporate Counsel to join the legal team in the United States. You will be the primary advisor on human resources, talent acquisition, and employment law matters, reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, while supporting corporate governance and commercial agreements.

You will draft and negotiate employment agreements, monitor employment laws, and guide HR policy development across jurisdictions. A JD and U.S.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
• 3+ years of relevant legal experience in employment and corporate law.

Responsibilities

• Provide actionable legal advice across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, hiring, performance management and offboarding.
• Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, restrictive covenants, severance packages, and contractor agreements.
• Advise on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, pay transparency laws, remote work).
• Oversee internal workplace investigations and develop HR policies and employee handbooks.
• Support corporate matters including contract reviews, MSAs and vendor agreements, and international expansion.
