Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Corporate Applications Engineer to provide technical support for mass-market customers, addressing embedded hardware and software challenges, and helping improve outcomes across global teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on embedded firmware and hardware experience, collaboration with product and field engineers, and the creation of knowledge resources, demos, and training to accelerate adoption of Microchip solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline; Master’s preferred.
• 2.5-5 years of hands-on embedded firmware, hardware design, or embedded systems development.
• Strong programming skills in C and C++ for embedded applications.
• Solid understanding of embedded hardware, firmware, and software design principles.
• Proven ability to debug hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other electronic lab tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset.
• Collaborative team player able to work effectively across global engineering, applications, and customer-facing teams.
• Familiarity with AI and machine-learning technologies and their application to technical support or engineering workflows.
• Experience with Microchip products, development tools, or networking protocols (preferred).
• Experience with Ethernet, networking technologies, or connected embedded systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to mass-market customers via case tickets, phone, and live chat.
• Address client hardware, firmware, and software design challenges with peers and product engineers.
• Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, and training for customers and internal teams.
• Analyze root causes and document actionable technical findings.
• Create example source code, knowledge-base articles, and application notes.
• Stay current on industry standards, product roadmaps, and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with sales, field support, and other teams to improve customer outcomes.
