Job summary

Moog Inc. in Buffalo area (East Aurora, NY) is seeking a Senior Director of Global Environmental Health & Safety to shape enterprise EHS strategies, protect employees and minimize environmental impact.

You will oversee EHS staff, drive ESG initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance across operations. You will lead safety culture, drive improvements, manage environmental permitting and audits, and collaborate with engineering, quality and HR to integrate EHS into manufacturing and product

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, aerospace preferred.
• 5+ years in senior leadership with multi-site/global scope.
• Deep knowledge of global EHS regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and CIH are required; CHMM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the global EHS strategy aligned with corporate goals and ESG priorities.
• Advise executive leadership on EHS risks, trends and compliance requirements.
• Build a strong safety culture focused on prevention and continuous improvement.
• Lead EHS integration for new programs, expansions and acquisitions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, FAA, DoD, etc.).
• Oversee environmental permitting, reporting and audits (air, water, waste).
• Direct incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Manage enterprise risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Improve TRIR, LTIR and near-miss reporting metrics.
• Implement EHS management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, AS 9100).
• Collaborate with operations to integrate EHS into manufacturing and design.
• Champion industrial hygiene, ergonomics, machine safety, and hazardous energy control.
• Lead, coach and develop a global EHS team.
• Establish KPIs, accountability frameworks and performance management.
• Foster safety leadership across all levels and cross-functional collaboration.
• Drive comprehensive EHS training programs for all employees and leaders.
• Promote safety engagement and transparency across the organization.
