Renesas Electronics Corp. seeks a Principal EDA/CAD Engineer to lead global compute and CAD infrastructure for semiconductor development. You will architect Linux-based engineering environments, drive automation, and partner with IT/IS for scalable solutions across sites.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, project provisioning, and capacity planning, with a focus on reliability, observability, and global consistency in EDA tooling and workflows.

Qualificações

• Significant experience in EDA/CAD infrastructure engineering within semiconductor development.
• Strong scripting and automation skills, preferably Python and shell.
• Experience with LSF or comparable distributed compute environments.
• Experience with enterprise version-control/data-management infrastructure such as Perforce Helix and IPLM.
• Experience with engineering project/workspace management.
• Understanding of compute, storage and network requirements for EDA environments.
• Experience with EDA licensing and FlexNet-based licensing environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills.
• Experience developing production-quality engineering automation.
• Ability to work across global engineering, CAD and IT/IS organizations.
• Strong technical documentation and knowledge-transfer skills.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical leadership for global EDA compute infrastructure.
• Develop and support Linux-based engineering environments.
• Collaborate with IT/IS on compute, storage, networking and server needs.
• Support interactive and batch compute environments.
• Contribute to capacity planning and roadmaps.
• Troubleshoot complex compute and environment problems.
• Develop automation to improve reliability and reduce manual tasks.
• Own and evolve project/workspace architecture.
• Develop project/workspace creation and initialization mechanisms.
• Ensure consistent environment setup globally across sites.
• Develop interfaces between project configuration, PDKs, EDA tools and workflows.
• Provide extensible customization while maintaining standard platform.
• Reduce manual intervention in project setup and lifecycle.
• Provide license-server infrastructure leadership.
• Develop automation for license updates, validation and auditing.
• Develop dashboards and metrics for infrastructure.
• Monitor utilization and identify capacity risks.
• Document architecture and procedures.
• Train other CAD engineers and IT/IS teams.
