Job summary

Cooper Standard Automotive, Inc. is seeking a strategic, commercially minded Senior Director of Purchasing to lead the worldwide purchasing strategy for the Fluid Division.

You will shape global sourcing, strengthen supplier partnerships, and drive cost competitiveness while protecting supply continuity. This role leads a globally dispersed team and collaborates with Engineering, Operations, Sales, Finance, Quality, and Program Management.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive purchasing and supply-chain leadership experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing.
• Demonstrated success leading multi-region or global purchasing organizations.
• Deep knowledge of metal commodities, metal component manufacturing, indexing, tariffs, and global supply markets.
• Proven success in strategic sourcing, complex supplier negotiations, cost reduction, and supply-chain risk management.
• Experience supporting automotive OEM and Tier1 customer requirements.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability improvement.
• Executive-level communication, negotiation, leadership, and relationship-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead global purchasing strategy for the Fluid Division, aligning with growth and operational priorities.
• Establish long-term commodity roadmaps addressing cost, capacity, technology, supplier capability, and risk.
• Lead global sourcing for direct materials and components; drive metal commodity strategy.
• Strengthen supplier base and build executive relationships with key suppliers.
• Support growth opportunities, quotations, and program readiness with sourcing guidance.
• Develop a high-performing global organization with clear performance metrics and succession plans.
