The salary offered within this range will be based upon the geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements, and/or skill level. Salary Range:

$145,000.00 - $239,300.00

Purpose Statement:

Responsible for providing technical leadership and execution of strategic initiatives, working closely with regional Manufacturing Engineering leaders to continuously evolve operations, increase productivity, and reduce costs by:

  1. Enhancing our ability to drive scalable, global solutions
  2. Identifying, establishing, and continuously improving standard work globally that drives consistency across tools, reporting, and processes
  3. Scaling global Best practices
  4. Achieving consistent high-quality standards at all sites globally
  5. Providing escalation support for technical issues
  6. Developing action plans to improve key performance indicators (KPIs) and achieve Best-in-class execution performance
  7. Developing necessary technical skills of subject matter experts (SMEs)
  8. Monitoring compliance with industry regulations and standards
  9. Alignment on new solutions with the Manufacturing and Sustaining Services Technology team
  10. Leading effective deployment of new solutions

These efforts directly support our operational focus on the relentless removal of waste and our imperative to Standardize, Scale, and Improve as we Think Differently to enable our growth to $10B.

Key Job Accountabilities:
  • Characterize and control the critical operational standards and methods that enable quality, cost, and delivery on customer products. Lead best practices sharing and adoption within engineering operations. Lead process capability matrix relative to technology roadmap. Lead the execution of equipment installation, operational, and performance qualification.
  • Be the standard work subject matter expert for manufacturing operations. Ensure the processes, organizational capability, and culture combine to consistently meet commitments to customers. Build collaborative relationships with internal and external customers. Lead the selection and development of standard work for specified processes and technologies.
  • Create and monitor objectives, goals, strategies, and measures for the engineering teams. Establish efficient processes and systems to track and report the status of initiatives, including resources, projects, and savings. Lead development and adoption of process performance monitors to achieve takt time.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for engineering activities to ensure appropriate site, regional, and corporate resources are leveraged. Manage issues to achieve root cause identification and regional deployment of systemic corrective actions.
  • Responsible for exemplifying and holding their team accountable to demonstrating the Plexus Core Values. Focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.
Education/Experience Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required
  • Ten (10) years of related experience is required
  • General Knowledge of ISO 9000, AS9100, TL9000, ISO 13485, FDA GMP Quality System Requirements, through training or hands-on experience, is necessary for success in this role
  • Black Belt certification is preferred
Travel Requirements:
  • Typically about 25%. This may increase depending on project demands
