Job summary

Vertiv in Ohio seeks a Director Global Engineering to lead a multi-discipline team responsible for NPDI, VAVE, advanced technology, and sustaining programs within Vertiv’s Power Solutions & Distribution business. The leader oversees mechanical, electrical, firmware, and other disciplines to deliver on-time results.

The role shapes technology strategy with Product Management, builds an IP position, and grows global engineering hubs into product-owning teams, collaborating with PMO,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field, Electrical preferred.
• 10+ years of technical leadership in industrial domains with managerial experience.
• Proven track record leading hardware development through full lifecycle.
• Experience managing multi-million dollar budgets for engineering orgs.
• Experience leading large, cross-regional engineering teams.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with international teams.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering execution of NPDI programs from concept to production release.
• Drive cross-discipline trade-offs and technical problem resolution.
• Champion DMAIC, design for cost/quality improvements, and root-cause analysis.
• Manage budgets, resources, and capacity for development programs.
• Partner with product management to inform technology roadmaps.
• Attract and develop engineering talent across geographies.
