Job summary

Celestica in Richardson, TX is seeking a DFM/SMT Engineer to drive manufacturability reviews for PCB/PCBA packages. You will partner with hardware layout engineers, logging findings with concrete evidence and steering design changes to optimize for manufacturing.

Role requires deep DFM expertise, experience with Siemens Valor tooling, and knowledge of IPC standards. You will support SMT processes and help continuously improve rule encodings and processes on site.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in DFM, PCB fabrication, and SMT assembly for high-density electronics.
• Experience with Valor NPI/Valor MSS for rule encoding and analysis.
• Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC-2221/2222, IPC-7351 standards.

Responsibilities

• Run pre-DFM screening on packages using automated tools and log reports.
• Log DFM findings with severity, routing, and evidence in a central register.
• Collaborate with layout engineers to drive design changes or mitigations.
• Verify closure of dispositions on subsequent builds with evidence.
• Provide site SMT support and respond to process questions.
• Propose rule changes and maintain Valor encodings across rules.
• Own deliverables: pre-DFM reports, findings registry, and rule changes.
