Job summary

Indiana University Foundation seeks a Senior Director of Development to lead a comprehensive fundraising program for the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies, advancing IU’s global mission.

You will build partnerships with the Dean, faculty, and donors nationwide and worldwide, expanding opportunities in Washington, DC, cybersecurity, policy, and international affairs while guiding a data-informed strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is highly preferred.
• 7 years’ experience in fundraising or relevant experience in complex organizations with success in major gift development.
• Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translate the mission into philanthropic opportunities and shape a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
• Cultivate relationships with donors, the Dean, school leadership, and colleagues across Indiana University.
• Expand HLS’s presence in Washington, DC and increase access to internships.
• Partner with academic leaders to identify cross-border fundraising opportunities.
• Coordinate with marketing and communications for major and planned gifts.
