Job summary

Techtronic Industries in the United States seeks a Project Management - Design Engineer for Ryobi Outdoor Power Equipment to lead cross-functional initiatives, support mass production, and drive continuous improvement while balancing performance, cost, and user value.

You will collaborate with new product development engineering, sourcing, quality, product management, and global manufacturing teams to ensure on-time delivery and robust design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in related field.
• Experience managing low to moderately complex product development projects.
• Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to manage several simultaneous projects to aggressive schedules and results.
• Excellent problem identification and resolution skills.
• Knowledge of DFMA, cost modeling, teardown benchmarking, and root cause analysis techniques.
• Strong analytical, communication, and project leadership skills.
• Familiarity with CAD and project management tools.
• Up to 10% international travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership over multiple low to moderately complex engineering projects.
• Drive developing comprehensive plans and schedules to meet project milestones.
• Coordinate project planning efforts for low to moderate complexity projects; identify critical path tasks and risks.
• Monitor and track project progress with regular status updates on schedule, cost, and risks.
• Frame technical tradeoffs with product management and cross-functional teams focusing on cost, schedule, and performance.
• Escalate project developments or issues timely and appropriately.
• Apply PDP knowledge from conception through product launch and assess design maturity.
• Interpret data to make design recommendations using simulations, material selections, and tolerance analysis.
• Coordinate testing to ensure safety, durability, and performance.
