Job summary

HP is seeking a Manager of Global Database Administration to lead a globally distributed team managing Oracle, SQL Server, and non-standard platforms. The role covers operations across on-premises data centers and cloud, with SOX/ITGC compliance, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure reliable, secure database infrastructure.

Qualifications

10+ years in enterprise database administration (Oracle and/or MS SQL Server) with 5+ years in management leading globally distributed teams.
Deep technical expertise in Oracle RDBMS, SQL Server, and related technologies (RAC, HA/DR, replication, backup/recovery).
SOX/ITGC compliance experience — control design, evidence collection, audit coordination.

Responsibilities

Direct end-to-end operations of HP’s enterprise database portfolio across on-premises data centers and public cloud (Azure/AWS).
Oversee architecture standards, monitoring tooling, and the DB360 platform for maintenance scheduling and access management.
Lead quarterly patching cycles across Oracle and SQL Server environments, coordinating global downtime windows.
Serve as escalation point for P1/P2 database incidents and drive root cause analysis and recovery.
Define database architecture and product roadmap for supported technologies.
Vendor management for database operations including SOW authoring/negotiation and budget oversight.
