Job summary

Textron is seeking an Enterprise Data Protection Engineer to manage and improve our backup, storage, and data protection across on‑premises and cloud platforms globally.

You will work with a distributed team to ensure recoverability, implement encryption, immutability, and retention policies, and support disaster recovery initiatives while growing into broader cloud/compute responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in IT Infrastructure, preferably with backup and storage experience.
• Experience with both on-premises and cloud compute/storage (Azure or AWS).
• Certifications such as Commvault, Azure AZ-104/AZ-500, storage/DR are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor daily backup and replication jobs; troubleshoot failures.
• Administer the enterprise backup platform (Commvault) and storage; manage capacity and performance.
• Support backup for VMware, Azure IaaS/AKS, physical/virtual servers, and databases across Windows, Linux, and AIX.
• Contribute to global backup/storage solution architecture aligned to strategy and compliance.
• Plan upgrades, migrations, and system refreshes; participate in incident response.
