Job summary

Textron seeks an Enterprise Data Protection Engineer in Fort Worth, TX to maintain and improve our backup, storage, and recovery environment across on‑premises and cloud platforms (Azure, GCC High) worldwide. You will work with a distributed team to ensure data protection, availability, and cyber resiliency of critical systems.

Responsibilities include managing Commvault, configuring backups for diverse environments, enforcing security and retention policies, and contributing to global storage

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
• Minimum 5 years IT infrastructure experience
• Experience with on-premises and cloud compute/storage
• Knowledge of backup architecture and management software
• Certifications such as Commvault and Azure are a plus

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor daily backup and replication jobs; troubleshoot failures
• Administer enterprise backup platform (Commvault) and storage; scheduling, capacity, tuning
• Build, configure, and support backup for VMware, Azure IaaS/AKS, databases across Windows, Linux, and AIX
• Contribute to global backup/storage solutions aligned to long-term strategy
• Implement data protection controls including immutable backups and encryption
• Design and distribute backup reports; enforce standards with owners and developers
• Develop deployment/maintenance procedures per policy
• Audit third-party/managed-service activities for adherence
• Plan upgrades, migrations, and system refreshes
• Participate in incident response and after-hours support
