Job summary
Evapco seeks a Backup and Recovery Engineer to join our Architecture Solutions team at the Taneytown, MD headquarters. You will design, administer, monitor, and continuously improve enterprise backup, recovery, and data resilience services across on‑premises, cloud, and SaaS environments.
As the technical owner for backup platforms, you will manage daily operations, perform restorations, and collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, application, and database teams to validate
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years' hands-on enterprise backup and recovery experience.
- Experience administering at least one enterprise backup platform (Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity, Dell PowerProtect).
- Experience supporting backup/restoration for Windows and Linux servers and cloud workloads.
Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and optimize backup and recovery platforms across on-premises, cloud, and SaaS environments.
- Configure backup policies, retention, replication, and encryption to meet requirements.
- Investigate failures, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Execute and validate restorations for files, databases, and VMs.
- Maintain recovery objectives, runbooks, and technical documentation.
