Job summary

Google Sterling, VA, USA is seeking a Data Center Server Operations Manager to lead a team of Data Center Technicians responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and deploying infrastructure powering Google's search and services.

You will oversee hardware installations, networking configurations, and round-the-clock operations, driving EHS compliance and efficiency. A Bachelor's degree is required; 8+ years in data centers; Master preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience managing technical teams, vendor or contract management and service delivery.
• 8 years of experience working in data center environments, including building and operating infrastructure, and network and compute architecture and life-cycle, and Linux/Unix system administration.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights, holidays and on shift-based schedules.

Responsibilities

• Manage round-the-clock operations across all shifts (days, nights, weekends) within the metro area.
• Oversee hiring, coaching, talent development, and vendor management for technical teams.
• Lead the deployment, maintenance, and support of systems and network architectures.
• Leverage Linux/Unix, network protocol, and hardware life-cycle expertise to resolve complex strategic challenges.
• Execute global strategic projects aligned with company goals while driving strict EHS compliance.
