Job summary

Google is seeking a Hardware Operations Manager to lead a team of Data Center Technicians responsible for installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of server hardware and networking components in our data centers. You will guide project plans, troubleshoot complex installations, and ensure high availability of our infrastructure.

The role requires managing server hardware, networking gear, and related software, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to keep operations running

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware.
• 5 years of experience managing technical, vendor, contract management, or delivery teams.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights, holidays and shift work.

Responsibilities

• Foster a collaborative team environment and communicate business priorities.
• Identify and resolve problems to support global computing and network architecture.
• Hire, coach and develop a team while achieving strategic goals and oversee day-to-day data center operations; drive safety culture.
• Manage project implementations within the team and align data center priorities with company objectives.
• Work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays, and shift-based schedules.
