Google Inc. in Reno, NV is seeking a Hardware Operations Manager to lead a Data Center Technician team, ensuring quality server hardware installations and reliable infrastructure.

You will guide configuration, testing, and maintenance of servers and networking gear, and manage small projects within larger installations. You will monitor performance, address issues, and partner with area leads, site managers, and teams like DCOps and Security to drive efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware.
• 5 years of experience managing technical, vendor, contract management, or delivery teams.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays, and shift-based schedules as required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the quality installation of server hardware and components.
• Troubleshoot complex installations and ensure infrastructure reliability.
• Lead configuration, testing, and maintenance of servers and networking equipment.
• Manage small project teams on larger installations and develop contingency plans.
• Monitor performance and collaborate with site leadership and partner teams to ensure operational efficiency.
• Hire, coach, and develop the team and foster a safety culture.
