Qualifications

• Registered Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
• Accredited degree in Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical or Structural Engineering.
• 12+ years in data center or mission-critical design and development.
• Experience leading design teams and external AE organizations.
• Leading large-scale hyperscale, cloud, colocation, or mission-critical programs.
• Strong multidisciplinary understanding of data center systems.
• Ability to establish design governance across multiple projects.
• Experience managing complex multi-site portfolios.
• Knowledge of high-density cooling and liquid cooling preferred.
• Strong executive communication and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with NFPA, ASHRAE, IBC and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Data Center Design Management function for a global or multi-region portfolio.
• Set priorities, governance processes, and performance standards for the design management team.
• Mentor design managers and leadership personnel with clear accountability.
• Provide portfolio-level oversight of multidisciplinary data center design across all systems.
• Establish and maintain design governance through the project lifecycle.
• Ensure projects meet OCI requirements, standards, reliability, and operational needs.
• Provide senior technical leadership for high-density compute environments and cooling systems.
• Drive standardization of design standards, criteria, and best practices.
• Establish design review, technical approval, and change management processes.
• Identify design risks and drive mitigation and resolution.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners for aligned designs.
• Oversee consultants, colocation partners, and design collaborators.
• Set expectations for consultant scope, performance, and deliverables.
• Ensure Basis of Design, SD, DD, permit, IFC, and record packages meet OCI requirements.
• Promote repeatability while accommodating regional constraints.
• Develop design performance metrics and report to executives.
• Support strategic planning for future data center capacity and emerging tech.
• Represent OCI in executive reviews and workshops.
• Foster a culture of rigor, accountability, collaboration, and governance.
