Google LLC is seeking an Area Lead for Global Server Operations to oversee a designated data center portfolio. You will act as the General Manager, guiding Senior Site Leaders and Operations Managers to balance safety, efficiency, and KPIs.

The role focuses on OPEX management and regional operations while promoting a high‑performance culture across multiple sites. You will coordinate with Data Center Operations, Networking, Safety, Construction, and Security to remove roadblocks and ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years leading technical teams in hardware server installations and maintenance.
• 3 years of site-level data center operational leadership.
• 3 years developing and managing managers.
• Experience with Linux and networking architecture.
• Ability to work non-standard hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and hire a distributed team of Site Leaders to drive KPIs and safety.
• Oversee hardware and software lifecycle including installation and maintenance.
• Drive efficiency and resource allocation across the Area.
• Foster cross-functional partnerships with DCOps, Networking, Safety, Construction and Security.
• Host site visits and manage engagements with public officials.
