Job summary

Google LLC in Las Vegas, NV, invites applications for a Hardware Operations Manager within the Global Server Operations team. You will oversee data center computing and networking operations, hire and mentor a technical staff, and drive short- and long-term site strategies to meet SLOs.

You’ll ensure secure, efficient data center operations, coordinate with stakeholders, and manage multiple projects while participating in weekend or after-hours scheduling as needed; equity, bonus and benefits

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, OS, or hardware.
• 5 years of experience managing a technical team.
• Ability to work non-standard hours including weekends, night shifts and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the computing and networking operations of a data center site(s). Ensure SLOs are met and team performance is aligned to those goals.
• Hire, coach, and develop a team of technical staff to meet objectives. Weekend, evening or off-hours management support may be required.
• Identify problems and create solutions for computing and network architecture.
• Work with others to set and implement short-term and long-term strategy for the site and ensure data center related priorities are consistent with company objectives.
• Take responsibility for the management and implementation of multiple projects for your team.
