Job summary

Red Hat, Inc. is seeking a senior Data Engineer leader to design and implement scalable data architectures and ETL/ELT pipelines.

You will guide a global team of data engineers and analysts, driving best practices, governance, and reliable data for enterprise reporting and analytics. The role focuses on building data warehouses on Oracle/SQL Server/Redshift/Snowflake, implementing SCDs, and partnering with business stakeholders for forecasting and planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; nine (9) years of experience in the job offered or related role OR eleven (11) years of experience in the job offered or related role.
• Must have five (5) years of experience with data architecture and scalable system design, ETL/ELT pipeline development and optimization, data modeling and schema design, data governance and data quality frameworks, data warehousing, and data engineering with increasing ownership.
• Must have three (3) years of experience with data integration and API-based data engineering, business data validation, reconciliation and compliance reporting, advanced SQL and database performance optimization, Python for data engineering and automation, and technical mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop data solutions using SQL and Python to transform, validate, and analyze complex datasets.
• Provide technical leadership for a global team of Data Engineers and Business Analysts, including code reviews and professional development.
• Architect and support complex data warehousing solutions (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Redshift, Snowflake) and historical tracking like SCDs.
• Establish and enforce data governance, data quality standards, and audit controls for integrity and compliance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions for planning and forecasting.
