Job summary

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; no industry experience necessary.
• Minimum 6 months work experience preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience using computer systems in a professional or educational setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to interact with customers, carriers, brokers and government agencies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate documentation required by US Customs/Government Agencies for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.
• Provide impeccable customer service.
• Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from databases, SOPs, tariff books, or the internet.
• Data entry and processing of import-related documentation for submission to US Customs; may handle all participating Government Agencies (PGAs).
• Maintain and update shipment documentation to comply with record-keeping requirements.
• Adhere to all import/export regulations and internal policies.
• Collaborate with internal staff, other FedEx operations and customers to deliver high-level service.
• Process agency brokerage shipments; may handle remote filings.
• Ensure all government and organizational policies are followed.
