Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel in Blaine, WA seeks a Customs Specialist to optimize logistics and ensure timely clearance of goods across borders. You will handle customs entry transactions and support the Customs Brokerage team to meet NBSC guidelines.

This role involves accurate data entry, regulatory compliance, and collaborative problem solving with clients and carriers. Strong attention to regulatory details is essential, with focus on efficient processing of shipments, documentation, and international trade

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2+ years' experience in Customs Clearance for Road and Rail transportation.
• Working knowledge of CargoWise.
• Knowledge of domestic and international geography including countries and major cities and basic knowledge of U.S. regulatory laws.
• Basic knowledge of INCO terms, Harmonized Tariff Schedule, customs regulations and other government agency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process shipments within department guidelines according to NBSC instructions.
• Input data accurately to process and facilitate shipments through U.S. Customs and PSGs.
• Classify goods according to SOPs and instructions.
• Check CargoWise buckets daily to ensure steps in entry/brokerage processes are followed.
• Document review and data verification for entry processing.
• Scan and archive entry documents and communicate discrepancies to supervisor.
• Coordinate import documentation from client and notify entry status to carrier.
