Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Global Category Lead for Full-Service CRO to drive multi-year category strategies and partner with R&D and Compliance teams. You will lead global category management, negotiate terms, and enable procurement resources to reduce costs and enable top-line performance.

You will work with Legal, Compliance, Data Privacy, and Cybersecurity to ensure risk mitigation and regulatory alignment, while guiding regional stakeholders and study teams in complex negotiations.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree and 3 years of Global Strategic Sourcing, Procurement experience
• Master’s degree and 5 years of Global Strategic Sourcing, Procurement experience
• Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of Global Strategic Sourcing, Procurement experience
• Associate’s degree and 12 years of Global Strategic Sourcing, Procurement experience
• High school diploma / GED and 14 years of Global Strategic Sourcing, Procurement experience

Responsibilities

• Lead category management for Full-Service CRO, supporting all phases of outsourced clinical trials.
• Partner with R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, and Compliance teams to ensure alignment with standards.
• Negotiate contracts, amendments, and terms with vendors for outsourced trials.
• Collaborate with program leads and study teams to enable supplier governance frameworks.
• Monitor market trends and integrate compliance, quality, and risk into sourcing strategies.
