Job summary

Emerson in Austin, TX is seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager to lead a global accounting team and oversee the balance sheet, close processes, and external reporting in U.S. GAAP framework.

You will partner with finance and business leaders, drive SOX compliance, and mentor professionals to build a high-performing organization. You will champion automation and standardization across accounting functions, manage cross-ERP environments, and coordinate audits while strengthening internal controls

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with a Fortune 500 company and/or public accounting firm.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting requirements, and internal controls over financial reporting.
• Experience managing month-end close and balance sheet review processes within a complex global organization.
• Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• Experience driving process improvement, automation, and standardization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for the worldwide balance sheet in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Contribute to preparation of financial statement disclosures and external reporting requirements.
• Guide unintegrated acquired entities and reconciliations across multiple ERP environments.
• Drive standardization, automation, and process improvements across accounting functions.
• Coordinate audits and ensure timely responses to inquiries.
• Develop, mentor, and manage accounting team members and foster accountability.
