Job summary

First Solar, Inc. is seeking a mid-to-senior level controls engineer to lead global electrical controls design and implementation, including PLC/HMI programming, vendor checkout, and startup of new equipment across NA, Asia, and Europe.

You will collect data, optimize control systems, and ensure safety and standard compliance across facilities. The role requires hands-on experience with Rockwell PLCs, HMI systems, AutoCAD drafting, and multi-network control architectures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of manufacturing equipment controls engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; or equivalent years of work experience.
• Experience with global facilities and multiple countries is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide global support for manufacturing facilities and control systems.
• Lead global installation and startup of new equipment and controls.
• Coordinate communications between process equipment and SQL databases.
• Maintain and update process tool electrical drawings and document equipment changes.
• Design, program and commission control systems and networks.
