Job summary

Electric Power Research Institute, Inc. seeks an Assistant Controller to provide strategic accounting leadership for EPRI’s global operations, including International, Europe, Gulf, and other non-US activities.

You will ensure financial results are understood and reported in alignment with US GAAP, IFRS, and local regulations, partnering with Finance and international leadership to drive scalable accounting capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required.
• Master’s degree, MBA, and/or CPA designation preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, or financial analysis.
• At least 6 years of experience managing staff; experience in a complex global environment preferred.
• Experience supporting non-US business operations, intercompany activity, and cross-border transactions preferred.
• Experience in not-for-profit/government-funded/utility-related environments desirable.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• ERP systems experience; SAP preferred; strong MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic accounting leadership and business partnership for non-US operations.
• Oversee accounting close, financial reporting, and governance for international entities.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory requirements.
• Direct intercompany accounting, foreign currency, and cross-border transactions.
• Design and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting and governance.
• Lead treasury and cash management for international activities.
• Drive finance transformation, process improvements, and ERP enhancements.
• Provide leadership and development for finance staff.
