Job summary

Kontoor Brands is seeking a Controller of Accounting and Reporting to oversee global accounting and financial reporting, including SEC filings and policy development. You will lead the Corporate Accounting & Reporting team and partner across departments and external advisors.

The role supports acquisitions, dispositions, and process changes, with responsibilities spanning sustainability reporting and US benefit plan reporting. Travel and extended hours may be required to meet critical deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of cumulative experience in accounting/financial reporting at a Big 4 or mid-tier firm or US publicly traded company
• Knowledge of US GAAP, SEC and SOX reporting requirements
• Progressively responsible accounting leadership with exposure to consumer goods/apparel industry
• Experience with global business and accounting operations

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated close, intercompany eliminations, journal entries, and chart of accounts maintenance
• Lead SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K) and SOX control execution; coordinate with stakeholders for earnings releases
• Lead technical accounting research and implementation of new standards; oversee related governance
• Coordinate external audits for global statements; partner with CFO, Tax, Treasury, Legal, FP&A, and Supply Chain on major transactions
• Support international accounting teams; liaison for statutory reporting and local compliance
• Drive global transformation initiatives including ERP upgrades, system implementations, and process changes
• Provide leadership to sustainability reporting and external service providers; oversee benefit plan reporting
