Job summary

Build AI in San Francisco seeks a Controller to build the accounting infrastructure for global operations. You will own the close, consolidation, inventory costing, treasury, tax, and audit coordination, reporting to the COO. This hands-on role starts day one and scales with the company across US, China and India.

You will design the chart of accounts, select ERP, automate workflows, and lead external auditors as the business grows. Travel to Shenzhen or India may be required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience including owning or leading a senior accounting function at a rapidly growing company.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP with close, consolidation, financial reporting and accounting operations.
• Significant experience with international/multi-entity accounting: foreign subsidiaries, intercompany, consolidation and currencies.
• Hands-on cost accounting for inventory and manufacturing, not just subscriptions.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly and annual close and produce consolidated financial statements for US, China, and India entities.
• Manage global accounting operations: books, intercompany, foreign currency, consolidation, and statutory requirements.
• Build accounting infrastructure for hardware/manufacturing: inventory, WIP, costing, COGS, fixed assets, depreciation, purchasing.
