Job summary

K&L Gates is seeking a Global Controller to lead worldwide accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll, treasury, and controls from our Austin office. You will partner with firm leadership to optimize processes, systems, and controls across 40+ offices globally.

The role requires 10+ years in accounting with CPA or equivalent, strong GAAP knowledge, and experience managing large teams and multi-currency operations. Competitive benefits and leadership opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with CPA or equivalent qualification.
• 10+ years in accounting/financial management with 5+ years in controller/senior roles.
• Experience in professional services or law firm environments preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and multi-jurisdictional compliance.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee accounting, GL, payables, receivables, payroll and reporting across 40+ offices.
• Lead external audits, liaise with auditors and drive remediation activities.
• Develop accounting policies and drive process improvements and system optimization.
• Manage liquidity and oversee covenants, credit facilities and risk controls.
• Mentor a global accounting team and coordinate with CFO and other leaders.
• Drive technology modernization in reporting, billing, and analytics.
