Job summary

New York University seeks a Deputy Chief Global Compliance Officer (Deputy CGCO) to serve as the primary operational deputy and advisor for the global ethics and compliance program in the Office of Ethics and Compliance. The role supports the CGCO and oversees day-to-day compliance operations across international, federal, state and local law, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

• Required Education: Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or international equivalent
• Required Experience: 7+ years relevant University compliance experience, including compliance management responsibility in an international setting, including relevant work in a broad range of foreign national laws and regulations
• Preferred Experience: 10+ years Professional experience in legal, compliance or related areas, including in Abu Dhabi or United Arab Emirates. Experience working with foreign government officials.
• Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: In depth understanding of federal, state and local legislation, ability to read, interpret complex regulatory and legal documents and ability to communicate technical and complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Operationalizes the program's vision and provides day-to-day oversight to the university’s compliance efforts.
• Ensures adherence with international, federal, state, and local laws, and University policies and procedures.
• Oversees compliance-related assessments, surveys, reviews, and audits.
• Collaborates with IA & ERM on day-to-day workflows of the Annual Institutional Risk Assessment process.
• Ensures unit-level compliance risk owners are accountable for monitoring and risk mitigation.
