Job summary

Interra International, LLC. is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Specialist to join our Operations team in Atlanta. You will review export transactions, determine documentation and regulatory treatment, and make calls to keep shipments moving without delay or exposure.

You’ll work on AES and CERS filings, verify bills of lading and health certificates, spot compliance issues, and advise Sales, Logistics, Purchasing, and Credit on risk and documentation as trade regulations evolve.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in transportation, international business, supply chain, or related field, or equivalent trade compliance knowledge.
• Working knowledge of export documentation and trade compliance principles.
• Ideally 1+ year of import/export compliance experience with AES and CERS familiarity.
• Sound judgment and ability to resolve routine issues and ask for help on complex ones.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue commercial documents, and decide when and how to release originals based on payment and trade terms.
• Handle filings with U.S. Customs (AES) and Canada Customs (CERS).
• Check negotiable bills of lading, health certificates, and other certifications for accuracy.
• Spot compliance and delivery issues, and work out how to resolve them.
• Advise our Sales, Logistics, Purchasing, and Credit teams on documentation and risk.
• Keep track of how changing trade regulations affect how we work.
