Job summary

Astronics is seeking an Export Compliance Specialist to protect global operations and support cross-functional teams across Operations, Engineering, Sales, Finance, HR, and IT. You will implement and manage the Trade Compliance program with training, process design, and proactive risk management.

The role requires strong knowledge of export control laws (ITAR/EAR), experience in license management, documentation accuracy, and collaboration with multiple departments to embed compliant processes

Qualifications

• 5+ years of export/trade compliance experience and/or training.
• Expertise in export control laws and regulations (ITAR/EAR, OFAC, Customs).
• Strong analytical thinking and cross-functional communication.
• Proficient project and change management in compliance programs.

Responsibilities

• Classification controls for export/import items and tariff classifications.
• License management: prepare, submit, and manage export/import licenses.
• Documentation review: invoices, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
• Coordinate with brokers and freight forwarders for clearance.
• Manage Export Controlled Data, access controls, and visitor screening.
• Screen transactions against restricted lists and end-use/end-user checks.
• Coordinate training materials and implement trade compliance program improvements.
