Job summary

Interra International LLC in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Specialist to join our Operations team. You’ll review export transactions and decide the documentation and regulatory treatment to keep shipments moving without delay or risk.

Responsibilities include preparing commercial documents, handling AES and CERS filings, verifying bills of lading and certificates, spotting issues, and advising Sales, Logistics, Purchasing, and Credit on documentation and risk.

Qualifications

• Fluent written and spoken English; professional reading/writing in Spanish.
• Experience with export documentation and trade compliance principles preferred.
• 1+ year in import/export compliance or related field is ideal.

We’re looking for a Global Trade Compliance Specialist to join our Operations team. You’ll review each export transaction, determine what documentation and regulatory treatment it needs, and make the calls that keep our shipments moving without delay, penalty, or legal exposure.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare and issue commercial documents, and decide when and how to release originals based on payment and trade terms
• Handle filings with U.S. Customs (AES) and Canada Customs (CERS)
• Check negotiable bills of lading, health certificates, and other certifications for accuracy
• Spot compliance and delivery issues, and work out how to resolve them
• Advise our Sales, Logistics, Purchasing, and Credit teams on documentation and risk
• Keep track of how changing trade regulations affect how we work

What we’re looking for:

• Associate’s degree in transportation, international business, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent trade compliance knowledge
• Fluent English and Spanish, including professional reading and writing in Spanish
• Working knowledge of export documentation and trade compliance principles
• Ideally 1+ year of import/export compliance experience and familiarity with AES and CERS filing
• Sound judgment and the confidence to resolve routine issues and ask for help on the complex ones
