Zusammenfassung

Mace seeks a mid-level construction and commercial lawyer to support the Americas hub on a global project portfolio. You will review and draft appointment contracts, joint venture agreements and related documentation, coordinating with commercial teams to move contracts from review to signing.

You will contribute to governance, advise on risk, insurance matters, and compliance while collaborating with London and regional teams in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment.

Qualifikationen

• Mid-level construction or general commercial lawyer, qualified in any relevant jurisdiction.
• 3-7 years’ relevant experience in a legal role.
• Legal qualification in-house or in a private practice construction team or related discipline.
• Risk reviews, negotiation and drafting of bespoke consultancy appointment forms and related documentation.
• Understanding of insurance, public procurement law, and dispute avoidance.
• Fluent business and legal English (spoken and written).
• Experience with performance-based contracts, joint venture agreements, JV and teaming arrangements.
• International legal or commercial experience.
• Experience with commercial digital contracts and data governance matters.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance issues including anti-bribery, data privacy, modern slavery, etc.
• Familiarity with industry standard forms of contract e.g. FIDIC, NEC.
• Business and legal Spanish (spoken and written).

Aufgaben

• Review of appointment contracts received with client tenders to identify risks to Mace.
• Negotiation and drafting of appointment contracts and joint venture agreements, drafting supply chain step-down contracts.
• Close liaison with commercial teams to manage the process of contract review through to signing of contracts and ad hoc advice through the life of the project.
• Contribute to legal department training sessions for commercial colleagues.
• Updating precedent documents.
• Assisting commercial colleagues in managing and mitigating potential dispute situations, raising and managing insurance notifications.
• Work with Mace’s insurance brokers and occasionally with external counsel.
