Job summary

Goodwin is seeking a Senior Collection Specialist to build strong relationships with Partners and ensure timely collection across client matters. You will support credit and collections activities while maintaining positive client relations and meeting firm targets in a fast-paced environment.

You will interact with billing attorneys, monitor past-due accounts, and provide regular status updates to management. Strong organizational, communication and Excel skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong writing skills necessary.
• Proficiency in MS Office; strong knowledge of Excel preferred.
• 3–5 years’ experience with financial/billing software packages and Finance/Accounting operations.
• Aderant Expert Billing System experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day collections operations for assigned partners.
• Identify process issues and implement solutions to improve results.
• Interface with management, clients and staff at varying levels.
• Provide quick, resourceful solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Support billing attorneys and partners to review unpaid bills.
• Contact clients regarding past-due accounts as requested by counsel.
• Monitor payment arrangements to ensure terms are met.
• Collaborate with billing representatives to ensure follow-up.
• Generate and distribute monthly Client Reminder Statements.
• Research unapplied payments and process client refunds when applicable.
• Respond promptly to client inquiries about past due balances.
• Provide backup for client audit letter responses as necessary.
• Conduct credit review analyses on clients as needed.
• Prepare reports on credit and collection matters; update management regularly.
• Assume additional responsibilities.
