Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking a Senior Clinical Program Director to lead the Clinical Program Team (CPT) and drive the clinical strategy from pre-Clinical to Commercial. You will oversee program design, feasibility, budgeting and governance, coordinating with GPT and CPT members across global sites.

The role emphasizes leadership in a matrixed environment, risk management, and ensuring delivery on time and within budget, with in-person collaboration a key component of daily work.

Qualifications

• Master/PhD in natural sciences or medicine, advanced degree preferred.
• At least 10 years global pharma drug development leadership experience.
• 5+ years clinical development experience in a global setting.
• Proven ability to lead matrixed teams and manage budgets.
• Strong strategic influencing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead CPT to deliver clinical program strategy, timelines and budget.
• Coordinate cross-functional input and governance reviews for programs.
• Drive feasibility input and design options at the program level.
• Mentor team members and develop capabilities across CPT.
