Job summary

RSM US LLP is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead the organization’s global cybersecurity program from the New York area. You will set the vision, coordinate across regions, and partner with technology, operations, legal, and business leaders to protect information assets and drive risk-informed decisions.

The role requires long-range strategy, strong program governance, and the ability to influence executive stakeholders across cultures and time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to lead effectively through ambiguity and provide structure in complex, evolving situations.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, including aligning security requirements to controls.
• 10 years' experience in a technology security role.
• 7 years' experience working with legal, audit, compliance, and regulatory stakeholders globally.
• Subject matter expert in GLBA, GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27001, CMMC.
• Ability to articulate business imperatives and security implications to executives and board.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Set, communicate, and champion the global cybersecurity vision, strategy, and priorities across regions.
• Advise executives and board on material cyber risks, program effectiveness, and risk-based investments.
• Lead global cybersecurity crisis response for incidents, inquiries, and emerging risks.
• Establish and maintain cybersecurity governance for information ownership, classification, and protection.
• Guide adoption of emerging technologies and evolving cryptographic requirements.
• Oversee governance, risk, and compliance activities including audits and certifications.
• Lead maturity and resiliency of the cybersecurity function through agile programs.
• Build and coach global cybersecurity teams across regions and time zones.
• Develop leadership capability and succession readiness in cybersecurity.
