Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) is seeking a Global Chief Data Officer to lead the Data Office, shape enterprise data strategy, and drive data as a strategic asset across the organization. The CDO will build a modern, scalable data platform, establish governance, enable advanced analytics and AI, and foster a data-driven culture that delivers measurable business value globally.

Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in data leadership, strong insurance domain understanding, and a record

Qualifications

15+ years of related work experience.
5+ years as a Chief Data Officer.
Deep understanding of data use in underwriting, claims, actuarial and functional areas.
Strong technical fluency and data governance experience.
Exceptional leadership and ability to influence stakeholders.
Willing to travel as required.

Responsibilities

Define and execute enterprise data strategy aligned with business goals.
Establish robust data governance and data quality practices.
Build and lead a high-performing Data Office and data stewardship network.
Modernize data platforms to support structured/unstructured data and AI.
Partner with leadership to deliver actionable insights through BI and analytics.
Foster a data-first culture and data literacy across the organization.
