Job summary

AFB International in Aurora, Missouri seeks a Senior Global Project Engineer to lead high-value capital projects across manufacturing operations. You will guide initiatives from concept through startup, coordinating across engineering, operations, maintenance, quality, EHS, finance, and supply chain to ensure safe, on-time, on-budget delivery.

Responsibilities include developing charters and schedules, managing budgets and risk, and coordinating external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Typically 8+ years of engineering and capital project experience in manufacturing, food, chemical, process or industrial environments.
• Experience delivering multiple capital projects valued at $1M+; preference for projects >$5M.
• Experience leading projects through design, bidding, construction, commissioning, startup and handover.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, multi-discipline capital projects from identification through handover and closeout.
• Develop project charters, scopes, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and execution strategies.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, contingencies, change control, and financial reporting for multiple projects.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, Finance, Supply Chain, site engineering, and leadership on priorities.
• Select and coordinate engineering firms, construction managers, contractors, OEMs, consultants, and external partners.
• Support procurement, bid reviews, and contract negotiations; ensure governance and reporting.
• Mentor project engineers and site personnel to standardize capital project practices across facilities.
