Job summary

AFB International seeks a Senior Global Project Engineer to lead major capital projects at its Missouri facility, guiding initiatives from concept to turnover. You will coordinate across engineering, operations, maintenance, and leadership to deliver safe, on-schedule projects that meet budget goals.

This role requires 8+ years in manufacturing capital projects, strong financial judgment, and experience with design, bidding, construction, commissioning, startup, and handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of engineering and capital project experience in manufacturing or process settings.
• Experience delivering multiple capital projects >= $1M; >$5M preferred.
• Experience leading projects through design, bidding, construction, commissioning, startup, and handover.
• Strong financial, cost control, risk management, and executive reporting skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office, scheduling, cost-control tools, and document management.
• Experience with AutoCAD, BIM, or 3D scanning is beneficial.
• PE, PMP, or similar certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, multi-discipline capital projects from identification through handover.
• Develop charters, scopes, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and execution strategies.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, contingencies, change control, and financial reporting.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, Finance, and Supply Chain.
• Select and coordinate external partners and contractors.
• Support procurement, bids, and contract negotiations.
• Establish governance, stage-gate reviews, and executive reporting.
• Mentor engineers and promote repeatable project execution practices.
