Business Development Director – US Defense Sector

Defense Sector Experience and a DoD Security Clearance is Required for this position. We seek a seasoned Business Development Director specializing in the U.S. Defense Sector to join our global team. This role will be based in the U.S., aligning with Ericsson’s strategic focus on expanding its presence in the North American market.
Responsibilities
- US Innovation Focus: Collaborate with Ericsson US local teams towards innovation within the U.S. Defense sector's mobile communications ecosystem, aligning strategies with Ericsson's goals to develop and deploy leading-edge solutions in support of the DoD's FutureG plans.
- Strategic Initiatives: Oversee the execution of strategic initiatives aimed at removing barriers, and strengthening partnerships, and will boost US Defense sector mobile communications innovation.
- Market Engagement: Engage with senior executives across industries to position Ericsson as a leader in MCN innovation, aligning offerings with strategic goals and driving industry forum participation.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Lead cross-functional teams working on high-impact market and business development programs, mentoring junior team members to build organizational capability in business development in the defense area.
- Performance Oversight: Ensure that market development initiatives are well-documented, tracked against agreed-upon milestones, and lead to quantifiable results for Ericsson.
Minimum Requirements
- Deep understanding of the critical communications market, including industry dynamics, regulations, and ecosystem.
- Experience with business development and procurement processes with government and public defense agencies.
- Knowledge of operational requirements and delivery models for defense communications solutions.
- Understanding of complex technology solution implementation in defense communications.
- Experience with long lifecycle business models and total cost of ownership cycles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar field, with solid understanding of mobile communications.
- At least 10 years of experience in the US Defense market or related roles, with proven ability to lead large initiatives.
- Strong strategic vision and ability to create and execute long-term strategies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills in diverse environments.
