Business Development Director – US Defense Sector

Requirements: Defense Sector experience and a DoD Security Clearance are mandatory for this position. We seek an experienced Business Development Director specializing in the U.S. Defense Sector to join our global team. This role is based in the U.S. and focuses on expanding Ericsson’s presence in North America.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with US local teams to innovate within the Defense sector's mobile communications ecosystem, aligning with Ericsson’s strategic goals.
  • Overseeing strategic initiatives to remove barriers, strengthen partnerships, and promote innovation in US Defense mobile communications.
  • Engaging with senior industry leaders to position Ericsson as a leader in MCN innovation and participating in industry forums.
  • Leading cross-functional teams on market and business development programs, mentoring junior staff.
  • Tracking and documenting market development initiatives to ensure measurable results.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with a solid understanding of the mobile communications market.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the US Defense market, with recognized credibility.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to adapt and respond effectively.
  • Resilience in navigating long sales cycles.
  • Customer-oriented with the ability to understand operational environments and add value.
  • Strong analytical skills for market analysis and strategic planning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in diverse, multinational environments with integrity.
  • Proven experience in driving large-scale initiatives within the US Defense sector.
  • Deep strategic vision and industry influence, with a focus on mobile communications innovation.
